Ken McAllister

(Principal at Palmerston Christian School)
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

It is an honour to serve at Palmerston Christian School. I grew up in South Africa near the international airport. My father flew for South African Airways and I spent many happy years travelling to various parts of the world. This desire to see the world is one of the reasons why I left South Africa in 1993 and have now lived and worked as an educator in five different countries. I know what it’s like to experience change and to rely on God in order to successfully live in different places and circumstances. I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge in all that I do at Palmerston Christian School.

There are several things that are important to me and that I value:

As a Christian, I value my daily relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. As a husband with three children aged 17,16 and 11; I value my wife of 25 years and my family.

As an educator for 24 years, I value children and the quality of their school experience. I want to see every child succeed. I am passionate about having the best education in our Christian schools, so that our testimony of the great work Jesus has done for us personally, is evident by the high quality love and education we give to our students.

I enjoy sports. I will watch, follow and attempt any sport, however, I follow rugby union the most diligently. I appreciate the outdoors and exploring in a 4X4. I am looking forward to the day I catch my first Barramundi although my current fishing experiences have been not much to write home about!

I like living rural on 5 acres with 3 dogs, a red collar lorikeet, a flight of finches and all the creepy crawlies rural life has to offer. I look forward to meeting each of you and working together in God’s vineyard. I am so blessed to be joining such a vibrant and exciting community. I look forward to what the future has in store for us all. I would love to hear from you. You are always welcome to come and let me know how I can improve your experience at Palmerston Christian School.
